Who I am

This site is run by me, Mocha Shmigelsky, from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Anything you send through it comes to me. Questions about this page go to hello@mochashmigelsky.com.

What I collect, and why

When you send me a note

The contact form asks for your name, email address, what your note is about, and the message itself. It is delivered to my inbox by Resend, an email service, with your address set as the reply-to so I can answer you directly. There is also a hidden field on the form that only automated spam fills in; if it is filled, the message is quietly dropped.

When you register for a webinar

The registration form asks for your name and email. Registering adds you to my PAC email list at MailerLite, which sends the session reminders, the replay, and practical PAC resources afterwards. Resend emails you the AGM Kit and the join link straight away, and sends me a one-line record of each registration so I can reconcile the list. Every email from that list has an unsubscribe link.

When you buy a toolkit

Payment happens on Stripe. Stripe collects your card details and billing address; this site never sees your card number. Stripe tells this site your name, email, the product you bought, the amount, and whether the payment succeeded, so it can deliver your download, email you the link, and register your included webinar seat on the MailerLite list. Stripe also works out GST or HST from your province. Your download page keeps a small note in your browser so a page refresh is not counted as a second sale.

When you subscribe to AI Tools Tuesday

The newsletter runs on Beehiiv. The email you type into a subscribe box on this site is passed to Beehiiv's subscribe page to save you retyping it; Beehiiv holds the list and handles unsubscribes.

When you book a call

"Book a call" links open Google Calendar appointment scheduling. Whatever you enter there is collected by Google under Google's privacy policy and shared with me as a calendar booking.

Free downloads

The free checklists and kits are plain files. Downloading one does not ask for your details.

Who receives your information

I do not sell your information, and I do not share it with anyone except the services that make the site work:

• Vercel: hosts the site and runs the forms, checkout and download code, and records page views (see below).
• Resend: delivers contact-form messages, registration confirmations, purchase emails and my copy of each record.
• Stripe: payments, receipts, and sales tax.
• MailerLite: the PAC email list (webinar registrants and toolkit buyers).
• Beehiiv: the AI Tools Tuesday newsletter list.
• Google: Google Analytics, Google Ads measurement, and Google Calendar bookings.
• PostHog: product analytics about which parts of the site are used.

Several of these companies process data in the United States. What you write in a message, and anything you buy, is never sent to an analytics or advertising service.

Analytics, advertising and cookies

I use three measurement tools to understand how people find the site, which pages help, and whether the occasional ad is worth running:

• Google Analytics records the pages you visit, how you arrived (for example from a search or an ad), your device and browser, your approximate location from your IP address, and a few actions that matter: sending a note, registering for a webinar, clicking a booking link, subscribing to the newsletter, starting a checkout, and completing a purchase. It uses cookies to tell one visit from the next.
• Google Ads measurement: when I run ads, Google uses the same actions to tell me whether an ad led to a note, a booking or a sale. When you send a note, register, or buy, your email address is turned into a one-way code (a hash) by Google's tag before it leaves your browser, so Google can match that action to an ad click. Google gets the code, not your address, and uses it only to report on my ads. Google calls this enhanced conversions. If you are signed in to a Google account and have allowed personalized ads, Google may also use your visit to show you my ads elsewhere.
• PostHog counts which buttons and pages get used. It is set to remember nothing between visits (no cookies, no stored identifier) and never records your screen.
• Vercel Web Analytics counts page views without cookies or a stored identifier.

Your choices

• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Everything on this site still works with them blocked.
• Install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
• Turn off personalized ads in Google's My Ad Center.
• Unsubscribe from any email list using the link at the bottom of every email, or just ask me.

How long I keep things

• Messages you send me stay in my mailbox as long as our conversation is useful, and are deleted when you ask.
• Email list entries stay until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed.
• Purchase records are kept for seven years, because Canadian tax rules require it. Stripe keeps its own payment records under its policy.
• Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in Google Analytics and PostHog, then deleted automatically.

Your rights

You can ask me what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email hello@mochashmigelsky.com and I will sort it out, usually within a few days. Where a service above holds the data (Stripe, MailerLite, Beehiiv, Google), I will remove what I can and point you to their own controls for the rest.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that matters, the date at the top moves and, if you are on one of my lists, I will mention it there. The current version is always at mochashmigelsky.com/privacy.
